Marvel Studios Unveils New Poster for 'Thunderbolts'

Marvel Studios is bringing its own version of DC’s 'The Suicide Squad' to the big screen with 'Thunderbolts', directed by Jake Schreier (known for 'Robot & Frank' and 'Paper Towns') and produced by the MCU mastermind himself, Kevin Feige. Joining Feige are executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez, and Scarlett Johansson.
Although an official synopsis is still under wraps, the film’s tagline, “Careful who you assemble,” teases an anti-hero twist on the classic Avengers rally cry, “Avengers Assemble.” It’s a clever hint at the kind of team we can expect—definitely not your typical heroes.
Florence Pugh is back as the brooding assassin Yelena Belova in 'Thunderbolts', and this time she’s joining forces with some unexpected allies. The star-studded cast includes MCU favorites like Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the scheming Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. New faces Lewis Pullman and Geraldine Viswanathan also join the mix.
For comic book fans, 'Thunderbolts' holds a special place, with the original team making its debut in "The Incredible Hulk ''449'' back in January 1997. The comic, penned by Peter David and illustrated by Mike Deodato Jr., introduced a team led by the notorious Baron Zemo. Characters like Atlas, Songbird, Techno, Mach-1, Meteorite, Jolt, and Charcoal came together to fill the superhero void left by the Avengers and the Fantastic Four.
'Thunderbolts' is set to hit U.S. theaters on May 2, 2025, so mark your calendars for what’s sure to be a wild ride!
