Mediawan’s Animated Series ‘The Three Musketeers’ Set to Premiere at MIPJunior 2024
Mediawan Kids & Family is set to unveil its latest animated adaptation of the literary classic "The Three Musketeers" at MIPJunior 2024! This exciting premiere will take place during the 32nd International Kids Screenings & Co-Production Market, happening on October 19-20 in Cannes.
In this fresh take, the series introduces four young heroines—D’Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis—who are vibrant, brave, and fiercely loyal. They boldly confront anyone who threatens the young King Louis XIII or the Kingdom of France. Together, they navigate Machiavellian plots and face adversaries stronger than themselves, all while embodying their motto: "One for all, and all for one!"
The CG-animated series, comprising 52 episodes of 11 minutes each, has been thoughtfully reimagined for children aged six to ten. Co-produced by Mediawan’s Method Animation (known for "Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir" and "Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood") and Palomar Animation, in association with ZDF German Television Network and ZDF Studios, along with France Télévisions and Rai Ragazzi, this adaptation modernizes Alexandre Dumas’ masterpiece by introducing the iconic characters as girls adventuring through France.
The premiere is scheduled for the first day of MIPJunior (October 19) at 4 PM in the Grand Theatre of the JW Marriott Cannes, followed by a Q&A session with the creative team behind this innovative retelling.
Originally published in 1844, Dumas' novel has seen numerous adaptations over the years, and this latest version, produced by Olivier Pérouze and directed by Stéphane Mit (of 'Rabbids Invasion' fame), will air later in 2024 on France Télévisions, ZDF, and RAI.

MIPJunior will attract delegates from over 60 countries, including influential buyers, commissioners, producers, and more from the global kids' TV industry. A pre-opening afternoon event will also take place on October 18, leading up to the flagship entertainment market, MIPCOM Cannes, which will welcome over 11,000 attendees from 100 countries from October 21-24, 2024.
